“Compelling and intriguing, this sophisticated show is a must for theatre buffs.”

‘Moonlight After Midnight’ makes its European premiere at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the whole month of August in the Assembly Rooms on George Square. The internationally acclaimed romantic mystery has been written by Martin Dockery, dramaturged by Vanessa Quesnelle and stars both of them.

A man and woman meet in a hotel room to role-play a relationship from its beginning to end. The beautiful woman and secretive man play out scenes of love and loss, memory and mystery intertwined in the private theatre of a hotel room at midnight.

MARTIN DOCKERY (Playwright/Actor) is a frequent performer of New York’s storytelling scene. Over the past several years, he’s created eight monologues and five plays, performing successful runs across North America, Canada, the UK, and Australia. His six autobiographical, theatrical monologues include Wanderlust, The Surprise,

The Bike Trip, The Holy Land Experience, The Exclusion Zone, & Delirium, and his two fictional monologues, Bursting Into Flames and The Dark Fantastic. He also headlined The London Storytelling Festival. As Concrete Drops Theatre, he and Vanessa Quesnelle have toured North America and Australia with their five plays Oh, That Wily Snake!, The Pit, Love Is A Battlefield, Inescapable, and Moonlight After Midnight.

VANESSA QUESNELLE (Actor/Playwright/Dramaturg/Director) is currently based in Brooklyn, NY, but hails from Ontario Canada. In 2011, she and Martin founded Concrete Drops Theatre with the aim to create work that was fanciful, thought provoking and engaging. In addition to their five plays, Vanessa has also created two solo shows, The Abyss and Luna. Prior to this, some of her acting credits include Amy in Company (Fountainhead Productions), Nurse Wilson in 7 Stories, Pierrette in Les Belles Soeurs, Helena in Midsummer Night’s Dream (Passionfool Theatre), Suzanne in Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Theatre Woodstock), Margot Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank (Theatre Woodstock) Bottom in Midsummer Night’s Dream (CAST), Laura Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie (QP Productions).
