New Vic Theatre Announces Return Of ‘Around The World In 80 Days’ Before Its Major UK Tour

The New Vic Theatre is bringing their much-loved production, Around The World In 80 Days, back to the stage from Friday 23 June to Saturday 8 July before it embarks on a major national tour.

Following two record-breaking runs in 2013 and 2014, Around The World In 80 Days is back by popular demand and will see familiar faces Andrew Pollard, Michael Hugo, Dennis Herdman and Pushpinder Chani reprise their roles as Phileas Fogg, Passepartout, Inspector Fix and Mr Naidu.

Directed by New Vic Artistic Director, Theresa Heskins, the action-packed escapade returns home before setting off on a national tour, including a five week run at London’s Cadagon Hall, with producers Simon Friend and Kenny Wax Family Entertainment.

109 characters, eight actors, six trains, six boats, four fights, two dances, one storm, a circus act and an elephant will take centre-stage in the production which promises to be as fast-paced, full of fun and epic as Phileas Fogg’s own race against time.

The mysterious and fabulously wealthy Phileas Fogg wagers his life’s fortune that he can circumnavigate the globe in just 80 days. Join him and his loyal valet Passepartout, as they voyage from the misty alleys of Victorian London, across the subcontinent and on to the Wild West in a race against the clock.

The cast features Jessica Lucia Andrade (Princess Suffragette, The Vaults); Pushpinder Chani (In The Dark, Red Productions/BBC); Simi Egbejumi-David (The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll & Mr Hyde, UK tour); Kirsten Foster (We’re Stuck!, Chinaplate); Matthew Ganley (The Snow Queen, New Vic Theatre); Dennis Herdman (The Winter’s Tale, Shakespeare’s Globe); Michael Hugo (Cyrano, New Vic and Northern Broadsides); Joey Parsad (The Remarkable Tale of Oliver Twist, Red Earth, UK Tour); Andrew Pollard (Talent, New Vic Theatre) and Stefan Ruiz (The King & I, London Palladium).
