West End PREVIEW: Disney’s The Lion King

When work began on adapting the Academy Award®-winning animated feature for the stage, the team were faced with an enormous challenge… How could you portray a savannah full of animals – everything from an ant to an elephant? How might you convey the great expanse of the African wilderness, and stage momentous plot-points including a terrifying wildebeest stampede and a raging waterfall?

THE LION KING opened at London’s historic Lyceum Theatre in 1999. Situated in the legendary Covent Garden area, the Lyceum is one of the West End’s largest and most beautiful theatres. THE LION KING London continues to break records and remains the West End’s best-selling musical. Based on the Academy Award winning animation, the presence of The Lion King remains firm ever since it was released both theatrically and on stage with its heart warming characters, gripping story and catchy songs.

We will be reviewing this as soon as possible.

Tickets for this event are on sale on the Lyceum Theatre’s website.
